Behind the Blend: Mars
“Where fire meets dust, life begins...”
When I first started dreaming up my planetary tea series, Mars was the easiest one to imagine. Known as the Red Planet, it only felt right that the base of this blend would be rooibos, which is a naturally caffeine-free herbal tea with a beautiful red hue and a smooth, grounding taste.
From there, I wanted to build layers that captured the fiery, earthy energy of Mars. Cinnamon came next: warm, spicy, and bold. It reminds me of the volcanic plains that stretch across 60% of the Martian surface! It’s subtle but powerful, adding depth and warmth to the cup.
Finally, ginger root became the finishing touch. It ties the whole blend together, giving that earthy “kick” I was searching for. It’s the spark that makes Mars feel alive in your cup, which was exactly what I was looking for when creating this blend.
